Course Content:

This course covers the key changes to the private rented sector with the introduction of the Renters' Rights Act and how the sector needs to adapt.

The session reviews the implementation milestones and implications for councils, landlords and tenants, along with the preparations that are needed to stay compliant.

Learning Outcomes: 

• Become familiar with the aims and outline details of the Renters’ Rights Act.
• Understand the current set out implementation plan and the various timings for each phase of introduction.
• Start to consider how Local Authority officers will be impacted by the many legislation changes within the Act, how landlords, letting agents and tenants will need to adapt and how Council Officers’ roles will change and develop.
• Help local authorities and officers plan and prepare for when the legislation is implemented.
