HHSRS Refresher Course (1 day)
Training for Local Authority Officers, Housing Association staff & Other Housing Professionals
This course will benefit anyone who has completed the HHSRS Core Competency Core (2day) within the last 5 years but has not been using it regularly
The Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS) was developed as a component of the Housing Act 2004 to replace the Fitness Standard. It has been in force since 2006 but has been given more bite due to the introduction of the Housing (Fitness for Habitation) Act 2018.
Who should attend?
Colleagues and their managers who either need to assess properties, or who visit them as part of their role to help them identify defects and hazards that may exist in the home.
Registered Providers use the course to help minimise or prevent risks and subsequent claims from tenants.
The course will help organisations come to terms with the practical application and implications of the Housing (Fitness for Habitation) Act 2018 and learn how it is interlinked with HHSRS.
By the end of this course, participants will understand the principles behind the Housing Health and Safety Rating System and will understand how to identify deficiencies and defects that could cause harm to the occupants.
Please note this is a Refresher course and does not replace the formal 2 day HHSRS core competency qualification (please see our two day core competency course DASH Services - HHSRS Core Competency
